Sec. 31-1a. Disarming a peace officer.

(a)

(a) A person commits disarming a peace officer or correctional institution employee when he or she knowingly takes without consent a weapon from a person known to him or her to be a peace officer or correctional institution employee while engaged in the performance of official duties.

(b)

(b) Sentence. Disarming a peace officer or correctional institution employee is a Class 2 felony. Disarming a firearm is a Class 1 felony.
